Mekoprint Takes the Lead with Innovativ Cobot Solution

Challenge

Mekoprint faced repetitive manual tasks that caused physical strain and challenged the working environment. Training new employees was a lengthy and less flexible process. At the same time, they sought a solution that could enhance precision and quality in their work processes.

Solution

By implementing two UR3e cobots in collaboration with BILA Robotics, Mekoprint automated repetitive tasks. The solution was designed and developed in-house to fit their specific needs and components. This ensured flexible integration into production, allowing for continuous adjustments as needed.

The working environment has significantly improved, as employees now experience less physical strain, leading to greater well-being. Training time for new employees has been reduced, shortening the onboarding process and increasing overall production flexibility.

Mekoprint, one of Denmark’s leading companies in customised solutions, faced challenges in ensuring a healthy working environment while maintaining flexibility in their production processes. Repetitive manual tasks resulted in physical strain on employees and made training new staff time-consuming.

In collaboration with BILA Robotics, two UR3e cobots were introduced into production. These compact and flexible robots quickly became an integral part of Mekoprint’s workflow. The cobots perform spot welding on Mekoprint’s components, relieving employees from physically demanding work positions. This has led to increased flexibility and improved employee well-being.

BILA Robotics supplied the robots and acted as a sparring partner throughout the process, but Mekoprint maintained full ownership of the design and implementation. This approach ensured that the solution not only fit their production needs but also supported their long-term goals.
