BILA acquires the service department of West Jutland-based Blaaholm

BILA acquires the service department of the automation company Blaaholm, headquartered in Esbjerg. With this acquisition, BILA strengthens its position in service & support for automated production equipment, and the plan is to establish a local office in Varde to service both Blaaholm's existing customers and BILA's customers in Southern Denmark. The acquisition aligns well with BILA's expansion into global service and exhibits synergy with BILA's existing Wind Solutions division.

BILA's acquisition of the service department follows a restructuring at Blaaholm. Blaaholm specialises in customised automation solutions and operates within four business areas, including the service department, which consists of 12 employees.

Local jobs retained

The majority of local jobs in the service department are retained after the acquisition, and former service manager at Blaaholm, Mikael Schade, continues in his role as department manager in Varde. The department becomes part of BILA's global Service & Support team under the leadership of Michael Andie Pedersen, Director of Global Service at BILA A/S.

A strong group backing

BILA establishes an office in Varde in the buildings of Titan Wind Energy, from where the employees will continue to service Blaaholm's existing customers as well as BILA's other customers in the area. Additionally, the service department in Varde will be a supplement and collaborator with BILA's existing Wind Solutions division, located in Herning.

The acquisition of Blaaholm's service department is part of BILA Group's international growth strategy to achieve a billion DKK turnover. BILA A/S recently acquired REO-PACK in Mariager, and in 2017, Dan-Palletiser in Vemmelev was also added to the product portfolio.
